Coming NEXT WEEK! Songs the Wild Taters Sang
Songs you’ve probably never heard from albums nobody bought
Hello dear friends, neighbors, countrymen, countrywomen and fellow Substackers!
As I threatened a few weeks ago when wrapping up this here snazzy publication, I’ll be embarking on a new Substack project starting next week.
But rest assured, it’ll be pretty snazzy too.
It’s called Songs the Wild Taters Sang and will deal with my (long-dead) career as a recording artist.
After next week’s introduction post I’ll be looking at all the songs on my albums Picnic Time for Potatoheads and the originally cassette only Pandemonium Jukebox. One song a week, until I run out.
So every week for the next few months, Songs The Wild Taters Sing will feature a song a week from my albums.
I’ll be writing about what inspired each song, how I went about writing them, their lyrics, the players, the musical influences that shaped them, who I plagiarized from, secret messages inside them, their impacts on world history … All that jazz.
One big change here from Snazzy Life: My publication day will now be on Tuesday instead of Monday. I’m on the radio until midnight on Sundays, so I like to sleep in on Monday mornings.
I’m an old retired guy. Grant me that little indulgence.
Speaking of favors, please help spread the word.
And remember, this new Substack, like Snazzy Life always will be free.
But if you absolutely do feel the need to pay, I respect that. If you don’t already have it, you can buy your own CD or digital copy of Picnic Time for Potatoheads and Best-Loved Songs from Pandemonium Jukebox.
One weird hassle:
Subscribers to Snazzy Life will have to subscribe separately to Wild Taters. You can do that HERE.
So line up, sign up, tell your friends, alert the authorities, etc.
See you next Tuesday at Songs the Wild Taters Sang!
Just sent you a direct message. Basically, a) I've never had any paid scribers here or on Wild Taters. No need to cancel anything. But you will need to subscribe to Wild Taters separately. Substack considers it a separate "publication." But it's free too!
Will those of us who are paid subscribers to Snazzy Life need to cancel payment?
Also, Picnic Time for Potato Heads remains one of my favorite-of-a-lifetime albums and the only reason I don't play the CD anymore is I've somehow ended up with no means to play CDs anymore. :>
